Weeko Focus Terms of Use
Last Updated: July 19, 2026
Welcome to Weeko Focus (hereinafter referred to as the "Software").
These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") constitute an agreement between you and Weeko Team (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our") regarding your download, installation, access, purchase, subscription, or use of the Software.
Before using the Software, please carefully read and understand this Agreement and the "Weeko Focus Privacy Policy." By installing, launching, purchasing, subscribing to, or continuing to use the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree with any part of this Agreement, please do not use the Software and uninstall it from your device.
1. Software License
1.1 Scope of License
Provided that you comply with this Agreement, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited license to install and use the Software on macOS devices that you legally own or control. This license only grants you the right to use the Software and does not represent a transfer of ownership of the Software, its source code, trademarks, brands, or any other intellectual property rights.
1.2 License Restrictions
Unless explicitly permitted by law and cannot be excluded by agreement, or unless you have obtained our written permission, you shall not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software;
- Bypass, crack, modify, or defeat the Software's license verification, StoreKit purchase validation, or the restrictions between the Free and Pro versions;
- Copy, rent, sell, sublicense, redistribute, or provide the Software in a commercial hosting manner;
- Modify, remove, or obscure any copyright notices, trademarks, or other proprietary rights notices contained in the Software;
- Use the Software to engage in acts that violate laws and regulations, infringe on the rights of third parties, or endanger system security.
1.3 Eligibility
You must be of legal age to form a binding contract and possess full civil capacity (usually 18 years of age or older in most jurisdictions). If you are under the legal age, please use the Software and its related services only with the reading, involvement, and consent of your parent or legal guardian.
2. Free Version, Pro Version & Purchases
Weeko Focus may offer a Free version and a Pro version. Specific features, limitations, prices, and purchasing methods are subject to the display within the Software, the App Store page, and Apple's rules for your applicable region.
2.1 Free and Pro Versions
The Free version includes the core timer, custom focus and break durations, automatic transitions, full-screen breaks, away protection, searchable and filterable local history, record rename and deletion, CSV export, 7-, 30-, and 90-day trends, a calendar, task rankings, daily and weekly goals, global shortcuts, up to 2 recent tasks, and up to 2 saved presets. Naturally completed and finished-early sessions count toward enabled goals; interrupted or unfinished sessions do not. The Pro version currently raises recent tasks and saved presets to 20 each and unlocks Ping and Purr reminder sounds; the system default and Glass sounds remain available in Free. Exact entitlements may evolve and are governed by the in-app and App Store descriptions at the time of purchase. Pro does not include cloud sync, automatic cloud backup, or unlimited storage, and core focus data remains local.
2.2 Purchases, Subscriptions, and Restoring Purchases
If you purchase a subscription or a lifetime license (e.g., Yearly Pro or Lifetime Pro) through the Apple App Store:
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase;
- If it is a subscription, it may automatically renew according to Apple's rules unless you actively turn off auto-renew in your Apple ID Account Settings;
- Auto-renewal charges, cancellations, refunds, and subscription management are entirely handled by the Apple App Store;
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store account settings on macOS;
- "Restore Purchases" will attempt to retrieve purchase states associated with the current Apple ID via the underlying system StoreKit.
Except as otherwise required by law or Apple's rules, all completed purchases, refunds, cancellations, and subscription management are governed by the relevant policies of the Apple App Store. You must submit refund requests and other financial inquiries directly to Apple Support.
3. Specific Features & Usage Disclaimers
Weeko Focus is a locally running macOS Pomodoro and focus management tool. The current build requires macOS 13 or later.
3.1 Away Lock Screen is NOT a System-Level Security Barrier
Weeko Focus provides an "Away Lock Screen" feature designed to help pause timers and cover your screen when you briefly step away, preventing accidental disruption of your workflow and offering a degree of visual privacy.
Important Notice:
- The "Away Lock Screen" is an application-level overlay. It CANNOT AND IS NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE the built-in screen lock of macOS. Its security verification relies on your macOS system password or Touch ID (if you have not set a password for your Mac, this lock screen is effectively useless).
- In the event of a forced application quit, unexpected system reboot, or specific multi-monitor configurations, this lock screen may fail or be bypassed.
- If you step away from your device for an extended period or if your device contains highly confidential information, please ensure you use the macOS system lock (Shortcut: Control + Command + Q).
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for privacy breaches or data loss caused by treating the "Away Lock Screen" as a substitute for the macOS system lock.
3.2 Immersive Break
The "Immersive Break" feature aims to block external visual distractions. When activated, the application may display in full screen and hide the system Dock and menu bar. To exit prematurely, you must perform local verification via Touch ID or password as prompted. This verification is handled locally by macOS; we cannot access your password or fingerprint information.
3.3 Data and Statistical Records
Recent tasks and preferences are stored locally in system preferences, while focus logs are stored as local JSON files. These data support searchable history, filters, record editing, CSV export, 7-, 30-, and 90-day trends, a calendar, task rankings, and daily or weekly goals. Naturally completed and finished-early sessions are effective focus for statistics and enabled goals; interrupted and unfinished sessions are excluded. The statistics are based on your timer activity and do not constitute legal, medical, or professional assessments of productivity or health.
3.4 Health and Productivity Disclaimer
Weeko Focus is a productivity tool intended to assist with work and breaks; it is not a medical device or a professional consulting tool.
- Non-Medical Use: Although this Software encourages you to take regular breaks, we do not provide health or medical advice of any kind, and we bear no direct or indirect responsibility for your physical condition (such as eye strain, repetitive strain injury, etc.).
- No Absolute Guarantee: We are not responsible for any missed deadlines, schedules, or resulting business and personal losses caused by software anomalies, timing errors, or system notifications being intercepted. You are solely responsible for the outcomes of your task management.
4. Local Storage & Data Management Responsibilities
Weeko Focus firmly adopts a Local-First data strategy:
- All data generated by this Software (including but not limited to preferences, focus records, task names) are stored locally on your device.
- This Software DOES NOT provide cross-device automatic cloud synchronization, server cloud backups, or data recovery services.
We cannot recover your data and will not bear any resulting losses due to data loss or corruption caused by the following reasons:
- Hardware damage, disk failure, or system reinstallation on your Mac;
- You manually deleted files from the application's local directory;
- Third-party cleaning software mistakenly deleted the application's data;
- You uninstalled the application (uninstalling may clear the associated container data).
We strongly recommend that you regularly use Time Machine or other reliable system-level backup tools to protect your data.
5. System Integration & User Settings
Weeko Focus may utilize the following macOS system capabilities to improve your user experience:
- Residing in the menu bar;
- Launching automatically at login;
- Registering global keyboard shortcuts;
- Sending system banner notifications.
The toggles for these features are controlled by you in the system settings or application preferences. Improper system settings (such as disabling notification permissions) may cause the Software's core reminder features (e.g., Pomodoro end alerts) to fail.
6. Intellectual Property
The Software and its related intellectual property rights, including but not limited to software code, algorithms, user interface designs, visual effects, icons, brand names (Weeko Focus), document content, and website content, are owned by Weeko Team or respective rights holders and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of any task names and personal statistical data generated while using the Software.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Software is provided on an "As Is" and "As Available" basis.
We DO NOT guarantee that:
- The Software is completely error-free, bug-free, or immune to malicious attacks;
- The Software will permanently remain compatible with all future macOS system updates;
- The Software's "Away Lock Screen" can provide enterprise-grade security protection;
- The locally recorded data will absolutely never be lost or corrupted.
Software anomalies, timing inaccuracies, feature unavailability, or data loss caused by the following reasons may be beyond our control:
- macOS system forced sleep mechanisms or underlying updates;
- Conflicts with other third-party software or security software;
- Hardware failures or system permission restrictions (App Sandbox);
- Downtime or policy changes of the Apple App Store, StoreKit, or related payment services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Weeko Team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages (including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, or data loss) arising out of your use or inability to use the Software.
8. Updates & Termination of the Agreement
We reserve the right to update this Agreement at any time based on product evolution, legal and regulatory requirements, App Store review requirements, or operational needs. The updated Agreement will be published on our official website or within the Software, and the "Last Updated" date at the top of the document will be revised.
If you do not agree with the updated terms of the Agreement, please immediately stop using and uninstall the Software. If you continue to use the Software after an update, you are deemed to have accepted the revised Agreement.
If you severely violate the provisions of this Agreement, we reserve the right, to the extent permitted by law, to unilaterally terminate or limit your license to use the Software without any liability for compensation to you.
