LOCAL BY DESIGN

Your color work does not need an account

Weeko Color uses Screen Recording permission only to read the pixel under your pointer. Picking, conversion, palette generation, contrast analysis, and library storage happen on this Mac, and color data is not uploaded automatically.

  • Screen access is used only while you deliberately operate the picker; Weeko Color does not save a screen recording.

  • Recent colors, favorites, and analysis state remain in the local app container until you remove them.

  • A JSON backup is created only when you explicitly export the library; there is no account or cloud sync.

Questions before your first pick

Why does a color picker need Screen Recording permission?

macOS protects access to screen pixels with this permission. Weeko Color uses it only while you deliberately operate the screen picker to read the pixel under the pointer.

Does Weeko Color upload my screen or color library?

No. Picking, conversion, palette generation, contrast analysis, history, and favorites are local. A backup file is created only when you choose to export it.

Which color formats can I copy?

There are 22 formats spanning Web and CSS, Android, Flutter, Apple platforms, HarmonyOS, Python, Java, .NET, OpenGL, Unity, and raw numeric values.

What happens when recent-color history is turned off?

Weeko Color stops adding new history entries. Existing recent colors and favorites remain until you delete or clear them.

Does contrast optimization guarantee accessibility compliance?

No. It targets normal-text WCAG AA or AAA ratios and provides a practical preview, but final products still need testing in their real interface and with users or assistive technology where appropriate.

Is color-vision simulation a medical test?

No. It is a design aid for previewing how a text and background pair may change under four simulated color-vision conditions.

Will importing a backup replace my current colors?

No. Weeko Color validates and merges the backup, skips duplicates, and reports newly added colors.

Can Weeko Color sync colors between Macs?

Not in the current version. There is no account, iCloud sync, team sharing, or automatic cloud backup.
